global Major Reference Works

gMRW is InfoChem's revolutionary application to enable direct and easy access to electronic versions of major reference works. Using one interface and submitting one query, research chemists can search validated secondary literature and obtain valuable information for their syntheses within minutes.

The gMRW application currently comprises the following works:

What is a MRW?

A major reference work is a secondary literature source that combines information from the primary literature with validated review articles produced by highly trained scientific experts.
InfoChem has built a structure and reaction database containing the chemical information of the MRWs and has linked it with the electronic text in a highly sophisticated way. Thus it is possible to access a structure or reaction scheme directly in the MRW as the result of a database query.

How does it work?

The gMRW application has been developed to allow simultaneous searches over multiple, different MRWs, thus avoiding time-consuming querying of separate sources.

In producing gMRW, InfoChem has co-operated with publishing houses such as Thieme Verlag, John Wiley & Sons and Springer in the design and development of Internet and intranet versions of electronic major reference works. The software used in these web versions allows one-click navigation through all electronic reference volumes.
